Plasma display panels (PDPs) are now wide range of applications, such as monitors, television sets, personal computers, traffic control signs, and signboards because they can be made into large-sized and thin displays. A conventional electromagnetic wave shield and light transmitting plate in PDPs typically are composed to two parts; a transparent substrate such as an acrylic panel and a conductive mesh or screen, which is made of conductive metals. These electromagnetic wave shields are called EMI mesh filters, and they are currently made by etching process combined with photolithography. Even though the etching method is relatively simple, it is not cost competitive because the base film attached copper sheet is very expensive. Moreover, the use of the strong acid solution for etching can lead to serious environmental problems.
