摘要

Recently heavy duty diesel engines with 4 valve per cylinder have been developed resulting in substantially improved engine performance and exhaust emissions. In this paper the swirl generating processes in a 2 valve per intake port are investigated by using both computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and steady state swirl test method in order to make good understanding the complicated air motions.
