摘要

We report on the second year of Drexel University's continuing process of culture changedesigned to enhance online teaching and learning, including current successes of the program,and best practices for the development of similar programs. We present an outline for researchinitiatives designed to validate these successes. The Online Learning Council (OLC) and OLCFellows have made a noticeable impact and received increasing requests for consultation andpeer-course review services. Other University entities, such as the University Faculty Senate andthe University Assessment Office, began requesting that the OLC and the OLC Fellowscollaborate in ways that broadened the scope of the Fellows' work. The success of these effortsraises challenges in sustainability and resource allocation. Increased exposure of the programsand increasing demand for services also demonstrates the need for development of acomprehensive research and evaluation agenda in order to validate program outcomes across theUniversity community. These will further demonstrate value to the academic enterprise.
