The Problem of Teaching Multidisciplinary Knowledge Areas in a University Course

The new technologies have become an important knowledge area for our current society. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a good example. They have many applications in a wide range of fields. They are a good claim to offer several courses, and in fact, several university subjects in very different university courses have appeared in last years. In this paper, we share our experience of a course of WSNs offered in the 2013 Summer Campus at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (Spain). Despite of the different knowledge areas of the lecturers teaching the course, the students have been finished the course with very good opinions. The multidisciplinary character of the lecturers offers students a very useful course with lots of content and very detailed explanations. Finally, the course is evaluated through questionnaire where the students have given us their feedback. The opinion of students is a clear indicator of the satisfaction level of the students with the course and in this case, the results were very positive.
