摘要

Acetaminophen (APAP) is a widely used over-the-counter drug that is responsible for half of all cases of acute liver failure in the U.S. Chen [Chen et al 2009] used LC-MS based metabolomics to show that palmitoylcarnitine was increased in mice treated with APAP. Acylcarnitines are the intermediate products of fatty acid transport into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation.
