Human glucuronidation enzyme activities evaluated using an in vitro cocktail approach and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry

We developed an innovative cocktail approach for in vitro UGT phenotyping, which can be adapted to preclinical screening of new drug candidates. Six probe substrates are incubated in four sets and the supernatants pooled before analysis, without the need for post-incubation extraction or purification of the metabolites produced owing to the sensitivity and selectivity of the LC-MS/MS technique developed.
