Increased S-adenosylmethionine levels during cadmium stress confirms cadmium detoxification through Melt4 activation. Combination of phospholipid profiling results and increased SAM levels during cadmium stress suggest that PC synthesis is shifted from PE methylation, which burdens SAM levels, to the CDP-choline route.
