Two galactose-specific lectins TKA and PNA showed stronger binding capacity to HSR-GBM1 than to U373 cells, indicating higher expression of galactosylated glycoproteins on the surface of GBM stem-like cells. A total of 18 potential glycoprotein markers were identified for GBM stem-like cells. A better understanding of these proteins may be important for earlier diagnosis and better therapeutic targeting of glioblastoma.
