This highly promising technique (HRAM MS) was able to identify a range of pathogenic yeast species including challenging sister taxa in a time efficient and effective manner and merits further evaluation of a wider range of clinical species. Even when strains were removed from the classifier reference, these previously unseen strains grouped with the correct species with close to 100% accuracy for almost all data files, and clear clusters of proteoforms can be observed for all species.
