IDENTIFICATION OF VOLATILE FLAVOR CONSTITUENTS OF THE PEEL (FLAVEDO) FROM FIVE GREEK CITRUS VARIETIES CULTIVATED IN THE AREA OF ARTA
Citrus fruits are of Asiatic origin (China, Burma) and, except kumquats that belongs to the Fortunella genus, they originate from Citrus genus, Aurantiacee subfamily, rutacee family. Botanicaly speaking, the fruit is a hesperidium, that is a special berry with a juicy pulp divided into segments where the seeds are contained, specific of citrus and related species.
