EXPRESSION OF IL-2 BY CHITOSAN MICROSPHERES CONTAINING PLASMID-DNA

Chitosan microspheres containing IL-2 encoding plasmid were prepared using a precipitation method and effect of different factors on microsphere properties was studied. Size of microspheres changed between 1.45- 2.00μm and encapsulation efficiency was high (85%). MAT-LyLu, the rat prostate adenocarcinoma cell line was used for the determination of the in vitro transfectional activity of IL-2 encoding plasmid DNA loaded chitosan microspheres and high level of IL-2 expression was obtained.
