The combination of scandium/bisimine/2,6-lutidien was the effective catalyst for the carbonyl ene reactions to give products in 80% ee,while the combination of ytterbium/bisimine/pyridine catalyzed the 1,3-dipolar addition efficiently to give the adduct in 80% ee with a good yield.Chiral rare earth(RE)complexes have recently been recognized as useful catalysts in asymmetric synthesis.RE/BINOL and pybox complexes are intensively studied and their efficiency has been demonstrated in asymmetric synthesis such as enantioselective cycloaddition reactions and Aldol reactions.We have developed new chiral bisimine based rare earth complexes and examined their catalytic ability in the benchmark asymmetric Diels-Alder reaction.
