Meme-gene convolution and cognitive mathematics

摘要

After presenting the basic aspect of the new science of memetics and the basic mechanism of meme-gene convolution we discuss the role of memes in the evolution of brain size and complexity. We also address the issue of cognitive mathematics, that is, how the human brain deals with number and present some hypothesis on the evolution of our mathematical abilities. We end the paper with a brief discussion of the future perspectives of memetics and cognitive mathematics, arguing that this is a very rich field of investigation, still in its infancy.
