摘要

Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV) is an Alphaherpesvirus causing an economically important disease in swine including central nervous system disorder, respiratory diseases, reproductive problems and death. Pigs that recovered from an infectious conditionusually become carriers of the viral genome in a noninfection form known as latency. The ADV can reactive from latent state spontaneously under stress or experimentally with immunosuppressive drugs. In Korea, the first outbreak and virus isolation was reported in 1987. This outbreak has created a challenge to the eradication policy besides needs of establishing efficient detection methods for ADV infections of low viral load. The aim of this study is to compare the sensitivity of two moleculobiological techniques in detection of ADV infection in piglets.
