In the in situhybridization of at least one labeled oligonucleotide (ON) to detect a sequence (I) that encodes the light chain of an immunoglobulin, the new feature is that contact between the ON and (I) is in presence of a formamide-free buffer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) 3'-end labeling of ON, especially antisense sequences; (2) Formamide-free buffer solution (A) for the process; (3) ON probes, or probe mixtures, for detecting (I) comprising at least one of 10 specified sequences; and (4) Kit for the process comprising (A) and at least one probe of (3).
