Thought experiments that shed light on the nature of optical linear and angular momenta

Invoking tools and techniques from elementary theories of classical electrodynamics andspecial relativity, we analyze some of the thought experiments that have contributed substantivelyto the conceptual development and understanding of the linear and angular momenta of light.
