Several cognitive ability factors of the students aided with different tools were evaluated, including information processing, perceptual expression, learning transfer and reflection. Several non-cognitive ability factors were also evaluated, including learning motivation, knowledge construction, and self-management. The results showed that compared with the other two groups of participants, the artwork exhibition assisted learning effectively improved students' non-cognitive abilities such as motivation and attitude in the learning process, deepened their understanding of knowledge, promoted learning transfer and enhanced practical skills. The presentation mode of the work exhibition based on the theory of multimedia learning is more beneficial to cultivating students' cognitive and non-cognitive abilities.
