Rehabilitation of the Bajina Basta dam left abutment

Due to the occurrence of considerable cracks in the buttress walls of the hollow gravity dam, a qualitative and numerical analysis of the problem has been carried out. The analysis is essentially based on the application of the numerical models computed for all relevant loading. A comparison of the numerical analyses results with the actual state and measurements on the dam has led to the elimination of the potential problem causes, but the confirmation of the other possible crack causes. The dam treatment ensures the future structural stability of this dam type. The rehabilitation with some characteristic details was shown in this paper.
