The American Society for Engineering Management's (ASEM) 2019 International Annual Conference (IAC) introduced the round table technical presentation format as an alternate format for authors to presenting their work. The round table format is similar to the World Cafe methodology to promote dialogue and knowledge sharing. Data was collected from the authors and attendees on various aspects of these round table sessions. Data collected was based on both Likert scale data as well as rich, free-flowing text feedback. This work will provide insights from the data collected to improve and continue with the round table format at ASEM conferences. The round table format is viewed as an active learning pedagogy, and avenues for applying the lessons learned to active learning classrooms are also explored.
