Objective To investigate the role and characteristics of Standardized Patients (SP) in clinical medical teaching. Methods The differences were analyzed between SP and real patients through the questionnaire survey. Results ① There were no significant differences on the teaching effect between these two methods (P > 0.05). ② The effect of SP is better than that of the real patients in compliance, cooperation (P < 0.05). ③ SP were not impacted by time and season. Conclusion SP have the same clinical teaching effect as real patients, while SP were better than real patients in compliance and cooperation, and SP were more suitable for clinical practice.
