The present paper objective is to discuss thernapplication of the humidity correction factorrndeveloped at UNIFEI High Voltage Laboratory in therndetermination of the performance of commercialrnmedium voltage insulating systems. There are severalrninteresting commercial systems in the medium voltagernrange. However, to the development of this paper itrnwas decided to carry out all lightning impulses testrnsequences in an insulating system with floatingrnelectrodes. Therefore, it was analyzed the performancernof a four conductors compact systems known asrn“Spacer System”. Among the various conductorsrnconnections, they were discussed basically thosernwhich presented floating electrodes. The procedurerndeveloped based on standard basic electrodes (Spherern– Sphere and Rod – Rod) in spite of improve somernresults still need more analyzes before becoming arnstandard laboratory practice.
