EVALUATION OF STUDENTS' SCORE DISTRIBUTION IN THE SUBJECT OF MECHANICAL DESIGN

Students' achievement must be correctly evaluated. One of the best method is to evaluate students' score distribution. Students' real score distribution is a mirror of education. This article deals with change of students' score distribution deriving from change of pedagogical circumstances in the subject of mechanical design. Mechanical design in the field of practical engineering consists of strength calculation of parts employed and drawings. Drawings consist of figures and manufacturing information. We, mechanical design professors, must educate their students synthesis of mechanical design. Rather than the most important subject of mechanical engineering department, school hours for graphics or figures in Japanese universities have recently been decreasing and decreasing. This results lower level of mechanical design education, Some discussions will be developed in turn through evaluation of students' real score distribution in the subject of mechanical design in this article.
