Abstract: Ink jet nozzles require accurate definition and smoothsurface finish to promote laminar flow of ink andprevent turbulence. We have fabricated ink jet nozzlesby three different fabrication ttechniques to evaluatethe characteristics of each technique and assess thedifferences between them. Scanning electron micrographsillustrate the differences between the three types ofnozzle produced and these have been quantified wherepossible. The machining times for these fabricationprocesses are also compared. !11
