Exchanges between principals and teachers in primary and middle schools fall into lower-quality exchanges and high-quality exchanges, with the former referred to as exchange relationships based on employment contract, and the latter as social exchanges focusing on respect and trust. Empirical study shows that in primary and middle schools, both lower-quality and high-quality exchanges are commonly seen. This is not only a need of education and teaching task and education career in primary and middle schools, and a need of principals and teachers themselves.
