Job satisfaction is a vital factor in predicting the vocational behavior of employees as well as their decision to quit a job. In the working environment, employees experience a rising level of occupational stress that might lead to a great deal of dissatisfaction for them. The present study is aimed at exploring the relative impact of occupational stress factors such as role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload, lack of career development opportunities, and people responsibility on the overall job satisfaction. For this purpose, a total of 150 questionnaires were collected from the employees working in the automotive industry in Turkey. The results reveal that lack of career development opportunities is found to be the sole predictor of overall job satisfaction. Besides, no significant relationship is found between job satisfaction-and role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload, and people responsibility. The study is concluded with managerial implications and recommendations for possible future research.
