ON-CHIP RF FILTERS USING BOND WIRE INDUCTORS

On-chip filters using bond wire inductors that are used in GPS receivers are presented. These filters are designed to reduce the required number of off-chip SAW filters required in the receiver front end. Two structures will be analyzed. The first uses all on-chip components where the second uses only few off-chip capacitors. 3dB insertion loss, with 25dB stop-band rejection is achieved. The trade off between the two filter structures will be discussed.
