摘要

Phenol-degrading Candida maltosa was employed to study the induction of phenol hydroxylase synthesis by both substrates that are utilized (phenol, catechol) and by substrates non-utilizable (p-cresol) as sole source of carbon and energy. The data obtained from enzymatic studies demonstrate that both phenol and catechol are inducing appropriate level of phenol hydroxylase and the induction efficiency is specifically affected by the initial concentration of the substrate used.
