In the present invention, green tea extract suppressed dexamethasone-induced muscle atrophy in C2C12 myotubes by reducing the expression of MaFbx. Moreover, in C57BL/6 mice with dexamethasone-induced muscle loss, oral administration of GTE (2000 mg/kg) improved the running time and grip strength on the treadmill, thereby restoring the dexamethasone-induced muscle function loss to some extent.
