The invention relates to a suction device (10) for sucking fluid from a patient's (100) oral cavity. The suction device has an adapter portion with a first end and a second end and also at least one tubular mouth portion (12) having a bent receiving zone (13) for receiving a patient's (100) tongue. The suction device (10) further comprises a securing unit (20) for securing the suction device (10) to the patient's head. The first end (11a) of the adapter portion (11) can be connected to an aspirator (30) and the second end (11b) of the adapter portion (11) is connected to the tubular mouth portion (12). The tubular mouth portion (12) has, in the region of a free end (14) of the tubular mouth portion (12), a terminal element (15) with an opening (16) through which fluid can flow for thereby draining the fluid from the patient's (100) oral cavity via the tubular mouth portion (12) and the adapter portion (11) of the suction device (10). The invention further relates to an aspirator system (1).
