The invention relates to a disconnector and to a method for disconnecting electrical apparatus using said disconnector, said disconnector comprising: a first contact (1); a second contact (2), said second contact (2) comprising a contact body (21) and a contact head (22) that can be moved in relation to the contact body (21); a contact support (23) designed to support said contact body (21); a first movement device that can move the contact body (21) from a closed position (F) to an open position (0), and vice versa; a second movement device that can be triggered by means of said contact support (23) and which, during the movement of said contact body (21) from the closed position (F) to the open position (0), is able to keep the contact head (22) in contact with said first contact (1), temporarily, over a time interval Dt, and to store energy during said time interval Dt, then suddenly release said stored energy in order to abruptly and transitorily move said contact head (22) so as to interrupt the electrical contact between the contact head (22) and said first contact (1).
