8779. Machin, R. April 13. Cutting-out apparatus.-Relates to a machine for cutting-out and folding-up tongues of paper for the reception of caramels &c. The paper y is fed intermittently over a channelled support c between coacting cutting-dies b3, b4, the support c being perforated to permit the passage therethrough of the cutters b3, each of which is of the shape shown in Fig. 5, and adapted to shear out and bend upwards a tongue of semicircular or other shape. The cutting-dies are reciprocated vertically on pillars a' by levers d actuated from cam races e1. Knives or shears may be carried by the die-plates &c. to sever the material after completion of the stamping operation.
