Boat - securing gear.- A device for securing the gripe chains of ships' boats, wherein simultaneous release at a number of points is required, consists of a set of members 3 connected by chains 4 to the deck, each member 3 having a hook 6 normally held in engagement with the gripe chain 2 by a pivoted link 9, which is adapted to be released from the hook 6 by the movement of a bar 16 forming part of a frame pivoted to the deck. Two or more of such pivoted frames may be connected together by links, so that th y may be operated simultataneously by means of one handle.
