Junction boxes. - In junction boxes for use with metallic sheathed wires, the metallic base or back-plate a has tongues g cut in it to suit the position.and number of the entering wires, and the wires are bonded thereto by clamps or straps f, either in the plane of the plate a or at right-angles thereto, as shown in Fig. 4, by bending the tongue-piece g. The metallic cover is secured by a central screw and has gaps cut in it to correspond to the tongues. The clamps may be secured by a screw, Fig. 3, or by a buckle, Fig. 1. The back-plate may be stiffened by stamping corrugations r therein.
