Lids; corner joints.-In order to prevent an attache case, suit case, &c. from opening if the usual fastening device for the lid is unintentionally released, the ends of the lid are formed with tabs b17, b18 adapted to be secured to the ends of the body a of the case by press-buttons or other fastening-devices c1, c3. The lid b is hinged to the body of the case by parts b12 - - b16 integral with the lid, the arrangement being such that the lid cannot be turned back beyond its vertical position unless considerable force is exerted. Separate end members a7, a' of the body of the case are secured inside the lower portions of end flaps a9, a10 and outside the upper portions of these flaps.
