[Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXVII] For facilitating the starting of fuel-injection engines by causing the fuel pumps to deliver an excess of fuel at starting, an expansible and contractible component is mechanically interposed in the train connecting the engine-speed governor with an output-control member of the pumps. As shown, the governor 2 is connected to the output-control lever 4 of the pump 1 by an expansible link comprising a piston 6 and a cylinder connected by a pipe 8 to the lubrication system of the engine, so that the link is expanded by lubrication pressure when the engine is running. Alternatively, the expansion of the interposed link may be effected by the operation of a starting handle or motor.
