618,088. Shuttle swells. GREEN, W. E. Oct. 10, 1947, No. 31009/46. [Class 142(iii)] A shuttle box swell B is in the form of a channel-shaped member projecting through a slot in the box wall and having grooved flanges at its ends to receive the ends of a leaf spring C, and the slot is surrounded by rectangular frame F secured to the wall. The spring pressure is adjusted by a nut d on a screwed rod D mounted on a transverse member f extending across the frame. The screwed rod is nearer to one end of the spring than to the other end to ensure that the pressure on the shuttle increases as the shuttle advances in the box.
