Class 65 (i) [Also in Group XXIV] Means for angularly adjusting a hinged panel comprises a screwthreaded rod 7, and a rotatable knob 8 surrounding the rod, the knob carrying an arm 15 pivoted thereto at 16 and having a threaded portion adapted to engage the thread of the rod, so that the knob acts as a nut and when turned permits a fine angular adjustment of the panel, means being provided for disengaging the arm to allow of a quick adjustment of the panel. The rod is pivoted to a bracket 5 mounted on a fixed frame, and is disposed within a tube 12. The knob is made in two parts 8a, 8b rotatably mounted on the tube. A ball 9, carried on one end of the latter, is held in a spherical socket in a bracket 10 mounted on a ventilator panel. A sleeve nut 24 screwed into the other end of the tube serves to hold the parts together. The arm is drawn by a coiled spring 18, through a notch formed in the tube, into engagement with the rod, and, being pivoted to the part 8a, rotation of the latter in one or the other direction moves the ventilator towards the open or the closed position. The part 8b has a pair of abutments positioned diametically opposite each other. One of the abutments is adapted, on rotation of the part 8b in one direction, to move the arm out of engagement with the rod, which is then free to slide in the tube. The other abutment, by engaging the arm adjacent its pivot, serves to prevent rotation of the part 8b in the opposite direction.
