[Also in Group XXIX] A spray for washing supporting felt during the manufacture of paper is reciprocated by a piston P in a cylinder HC which at one end OE is supplied at a constant liquid pressure, the other end IE being alternately connected to an outlet 107 and a source of liquid pressure. The liquid supplied to the end IE passes through radial holes to the inside of the piston-rod which may be provided with nozzles to form the jets of the spray. Alternatively, the rod may be attached to an extension provided with the nozzles.
