A process for the preparation of vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers

Vinyl chloride polymers are made by polymerizing vinyl chloride alone, or in admixture with another ethynically unsaturated monomer, in the presence of an ammoniacal complex of a trialkyl boron of the formula FORM:0947113/C3/1 where R represents an alkyl radical. The other monomer may be vinyl acetate, hexyl acrylate, alkyl chloride, ethylene propylene, or monochlorotrifluoroethylene. The boron compound may be trimethyl or triethyl-boronmonoamine. The polymerization may be effected in bulk, organic solvent solution, or aqueous media.
