A frequency changer of the type described in Specification 1,035,379 is modified by mounting the diode 11 on an adjustable plunger 9, so that an end cap 13 of the diode and the walls of a cavity 7 form a variable capacitor. The plunger 9 forms an adjustable coaxial coupling to an input cavity 15, the capacitance of which is ganged to the capacitance of the diode cap and cavity. A further trimmer 19 may be provided. In a modification, the diode may be mounted on the plunger to give separate adjustment of the two capacitorances.
