Selective herbicide for use in paddy fields contains a mixture of (a) a cpd. (I):- (where X1 and X2 are Cl2FCS, Cl or H, X1 or X2 being ClF2CS); and (b) a cpd. (II):- R1S-CONR2R3 (where R1 = 1-6C alkyl; R2 = lower alkyl; R3 is lower alkyl or cycloalkyl or an N-contng. heterocycle embracing 6C polymethylene groups by bonding with R2, e.g. NR2R3 = hexamethyleneimino). Pref. the wt. ratio of (i) to (II) is 1 : 1-10.
