Acryloyl-heterocyclic carboxylic acids - with diuretic and saluretic activity

Title acids of formula (I) (where r is lower alkyl; X is O, S, NH or NCH3, Y is H, F, Cl, Br or CH3, and Z1 and Z2 are H, F, Cl, Br, lower alkyl or alkoxy) and their catalyst with org. and inorg. bases, are prepd. by reacting a cpd. of formula I (where R-C(=CH2) is R-CH (CH2SCR2)-; R2 is lower alkyl) with a lower alkylating agent of formula R2-A (where A is monovalent anion of a mineral acid) and boiling the resulting salt in a weak base until the ternary sulphonium base has been eliminated, the reaction prod. obtd. being opt. converted into a salt with an org. or inorg. base.
