Correct reception of the transmitted information may be indicated by a lamp 11 in response to a signal from station 10 which also erases the contents of the register. The circulating storage in probe 4 may have sufficient capacity for information from more than one badge 1 and may have an associated parity checker. If station 10 serves more than one probe 4, the probes may operate on different frequencies. In another embodiment each probe has to be physically plugged into a collecting station 10 to transfer its information. Each badge may be provided with guides 6, 7 for the probe and a separate clock track or complementary, self-clocking tracks may be provided on stripe 3.
