1355209 Recovery of rhodium values BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 14 Sept 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 42698/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division C2] Rhodium values are recovered from basic ion exchangers containing rhodium carbonylate by treating the exchanger with a mixture of C 1 -C 4 alkanol, water-soluble aliphatic amine, water and molecular oxygen at a temperature of 10-100‹ C. The amines may be primary, secondary or tertiary having alkyl radicals with 1-4 C atoms, optionally substituted with hydroxy groups. The rhodium containing eluate may be evaporated and the residue dissolved in hydrochloric acid to give rhodium chloride monohydrate. The rhodium carbonylate may have been absorbed on to the resin in a process for recovering rhodium from oxo reaction mixtures containing CO and H 2 under pressure.
