Apparatus for manufacturing anodes, for tin plating white iron, comprises a no. of bucket-type moulds joined together to form an endless chain associated with step by step advancing apparatus, the mould having an outwardly oriented open face; a casting apparatus situated adjacent one end of the chain and adapted to transfer a measure amount of liquid metal from a crucible into a mould in a resting position; and at the other end of the chain, a handling apparatus comprising a lowering apparatus and a pusher transporter carrying the anodes from a position on the chain to a stacking apparatus. The lowering apparatus and the pusher transporter are arranged on a carriage and the staking apparatus is supported on a gantry type frame.
