Sheet metal hinges are used to equip a suitcase or trunk with a lid. Anchor lugs, which are attached to the hinge plates at right angles, are simultaneously pressed into the lid and trunk support frame and then bent over to provide secure location. This is done with the help of the tool in such a way that on installation of the hinge the trunk and the lid are forced into close contact thus avoiding the formation of an undesirable gap between trunk and lid.
