A circuit produces a reference signal controllable externally and conveyed, together with the tachometer and/or transducer signal, to a comparator stage whose output signal controls the electrical eddy-current brake by an amplifier in such a way that when the tachometer and/or transducer signal value is below that of the reference signal there is no braking force generated. However, when the signal value is greater, a braking force rising with the difference between the signal and the reference signal is generated. The time constant of the servo circuit is small in relation to the vehicle acceleration times to be measured.
