Sealed joint for ceiling and partition - L-section strips form channel for top of sliding partition

The waterproof joint is boxed-in (7). Two metal L shaped strips (5) are attached by their shorter legs to the ceiling (2). These strips fit either side of the partition (4). Clips (8) are attached to these strips and these are shaped to hold the outer casing (7). The clips nearer the ceiling are stiffer than the lower ones. The L shaped strips each contain a recess (10) which holds a strip of asbestos silica which provides a waterproof seal. The seal is also gas tight. The design of the joint is such that it allows the partition to move in relation to the ceiling.
