1290132 Dithio-bisphenol derivative CONSOLIDATION COAL CO 16 Jan 1970 [21 Jan 1969] 2170/70 Heading C2C 4,4SP1/SP - Dithio - bis - (2,6 - di - t - butylphenol) is the main product obtained by treating 2,6-dit-butylphenol with sulphur monochloride in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst. Specified catalysts are aluminium chloride, ferric bromide, titanium tetrachloride, boron trifluoride etherate, zinc bromide, antimony chloride and sulphuric, hydrochloric and trifluoroacetic acids. Examples are given.
