Item batch packing system - lifts batch from support and holds in packing position before setting down

The system uses binding material pulled tight round the batch of items (2), which is gripped and raised from a first support (1), then placed inside the binding material (5) which is already in position to receive it. The wrapping operation is then completed, without the batch being set down, and the complete package is finally deposited on a further support (14) and released. The batch can initially be gripped by a movable grab (13) passing through a tunnel (6) in order to engage with it. The grab then brings the batch into one or more positions as necessary to complete the wrapping operation, and finally sets in down on a pallet (14). The grab can be attached to a slide (7) travelling on rails (8).
